Caged ladders

To comply with safety regulations, the safety requirements laid down in NF E 85 016 and the instructions for work-place inspection, ladders used as a means of access or emergency exit must be equipped with a safety cage. Depending on how and where a Fortal caged ladder is to be used, it can be made from aluminium, stainless steel or galvanised steel

Ladder change-over

1.      Caged ladders for buildings measuring less than 8 metres high do not require a ladder change-over.

2.      Caged ladders for buildings measuring more than 8 metres high must be equipped with ladder change-overs and rest-platforms

Exception: buildings measuring more than 8 metres high where there is not enough space for a ladder change. In this case, you may install a single-flight caged ladder equipped with fold-up rest-platforms every 6 metres.
